Angaston’s Christmas Giving Tree
Angaston Christmas Parade organisers are teaming up with Kid’s Unite to encourage the town to unite for a common cause.
The children’s toy store is the location of Angaston’s “Christmas Giving Tree” where gifts can be purchased at a discount, wrapped, labelled and placed ready for delivery to Barossa Lutheran Community Care for distribution to families in
need.
Angaston Christmas Parade committee member, Ms Caroline Langford said the Christmas Giving Tree, in-store as from today, was a precursor to the town’s celebrations on November 24 during which another tree will be located at the Memorial Reserve for one last opportunity to donate gifts.
“On parade night, people can bring something they have purchased elsewhere to put under the tree at the Park. Non perishable food is accepted as well,” said Caroline.
“We wanted to find some way, within our own community, to give to those who are not so fortunate in the holiday season who, perhaps, have had times of difficulty and are not able to celebrate with their children in a way that we are lucky to be able to do.
“We thought the Giving Tree was the best way to do that.”
